Our partnerships
Sadler’s Wells makes and shares dance to inspire us all, as guided by our values: collaboration, excellence, inclusion and innovation. We champion freedom of artistic expression and believe playing host to dance that explores the light and dark of humanity is essential to who we are.
Like many cultural organisations, Sadler’s Wells has been under increasing pressure to align with some of the points of view causing division in society. In particular, this includes opinions on funding in the arts.
We believe remaining nonpartisan as an organisation is the most respectful way we can convene differing artistic voices. Our mixed revenue model underpins this neutrality; only through partnerships with public and private funders can we continue to give an open platform to the UK and international dance community.
We choose to partner with businesses who champion the arts and believe passionately in the power of the artform and outreach into communities to transform lives, ensuring Sadler’s is an active and relevant player in society. Our longstanding partnership with Barclays is an example of this – our work together has brought over 25,000 young people to our performances, and supported thousands of children and young people across the country to engage in high quality dance experiences.
Sadler’s Wells feels confident that all our funders are selected in full compliance with our values, the regulatory requirements of the Charities Commission, while furthering our ability to deliver on our mission.
