Introducing the next generation of choreographers
BLUE MAKWANA, Elisabeth Mulenga, Maiya Leeke and Roseann & Sula make up the 2023 – 2024 cohort of the Young Associates programme.
We support exceptional young dance makers aged 18 – 24 and 18 – 30 for d/Deaf and disabled choreographers, providing a crucial first step into their career as choreographers. These videos are a look into their unique creative perspectives.
BLUE MAKWANA
Taking a broad approach to choreography, BLUE MAKWANA pairs her versatile skill set with a hybrid genre score and lighting to achieve stylistic fusion.
Elisabeth Mulenga
Elisabeth approaches choreography with a curiosity for finding rest within contradicting truths and revealing what emerges when you are intimate with what disturbs you.
Maiya Leeke
A moment of interest in the simplicity of elegance. Maiya Leeke allows the wind and the sunlight to feed her movement.
Roseann & Sula
In an act of questioning who they are, Roseann & Sula are blurring the lines between individuality and collective voice.
