A group of flamenco dancers and guitarists perform on stage, backlit by blue light, with dancers in dynamic poses and musicians seated.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of her own dance company, Sara Baras pays tribute to the flamenco guitar virtuoso, Paco de Lucía.

Vuela (meaning “fly”) is performed by Sara Baras together with 12 exceptional musicians and dancers. It takes audiences on a choreographic journey of 15 unique pieces across four acts revolving around a different word: Wood, Sea, Death and Fly. Vuela sets flamenco language in motion.

Celebrated for her lightning-fast footwork, intricate hand, arm and body movements, as well as her captivating stage presence and choreography, Sara Baras is known for being “a woman who can dance up not just a flamenco storm, but a hurricane” (The Guardian).

Once in a while someone comes along in a musical discipline who changes everything, who sees things that others have not seen up to that point, and Paco de Lucia was one of these people.
