A stage with a large polar bear figure sitting on an iceberg-like structure. A smaller polar bear accompanies it, and there are two puppeteers dressed in black nearby.

Comic physical theatre and masterful puppetry deliver a witty and wonderful reflection on the climate change crisis.

Sometime in the near future… Humanity has failed to adapt to the new ecological reality. It is officially the end of the world as we know it. Amidst this climatic chaos, some people attempt to maintain a normal lifestyle, hilariously turning a blind eye to the mayhem that surrounds them.

Using lo-fi special effects, miniature vehicles, puppetry, video and physical recreations of film language, Dimanche paints a witty and tender portrait of human ingenuity and stubborness when faced with the uncontrollable forces of nature.

Synopsis

In its city centre home, a family is trying to enjoy its traditional Sunday gathering. But strong winds and torrential rain rage outside, the walls are shaking and the storm has only just begun.Meanwhile, somewhere above the Arctic Circle three travelling wildlife reporters are doing their best to document the apocalypse. With what little equipment they have, they seek to film Earth’s last living species: three wild animals on the brink of extinction.

Image description: The image shows a large perfect house with red doors and window shutters, a perfect garden with a man mowing the lawn and steps leading up to the house. Behind it the forest is aggressively on fire.
