Maud Le Pladec is seeing things from a new perspective.

TWENTY-SEVEN PERSPECTIVES refers to an exploratory work created by conceptual Swiss artist Rémy Zaugg – 27 esquisses perceptives (27 perceptive sketches). Zaugg takes a painting by Cézanne and breaks it down into its component parts.

Taking inspiration from this approach, Maud Le Pladec, alongside composer Pete Harden, used the structure of Franz Schubert’s famous Unfinished Symphony to craft a series of fragmentary reinterpretations. Le Pladec reinvents her own choreographic expression, entrusting ten dancers from a range of backgrounds with her pared-down movement.

Le Pladec previously co-directed the haunting solo Hunted at Sadler’s Wells in 2017. In the same year, she was named director of the Centre chorégraphique national d’Orléans in France.
